These gardening tips will help your garden flourish in time for the summer by using typical household items so you can find inner peas with your garden design.

Eggsactly what you’re looking for…

Eggshells carry calcium in their shells which can be very beneficial for the growth of your garden. Just make sure to crush them up into small pieces before sprinkling them around your plants to give them that extra little boost they need!

Don’t be so salty!

Epsom salt can work wonders in your garden! It is rich in magnesium and sulfate – two nutrients that are crucial for growing healthy plants! Make sure that you don’t put too much on your plants though (too much of anything is never good…). A tablespoon of Epsom salt once or twice a month will leave your roses, tomatoes and peppers grateful for the extra magnesium.

Brewtiful Indoor Plants

How often have you tried to water your indoor plants in the sink only to cause a huge mess? Not only does the water make the bottom of the pot dirty, but; you’re at risk of losing a lot of soil down the drain too. We recommend placing a coffee filter in the bottom of your potted plants, this will help the water drain but keep the dirt contained in your pot. Who’s a dirtbag now? 😉

Weed it and Reap

Be gentle to your plants by avoiding weed killers filled with chemicals and opting for a homemade solution! We recommend using a bucket to mix 3L of white vinegar and stirring in 1 cup of table salt and 1 tbsp of dish soap. Then, simply use a funnel to pour it into a spray bottle and safely use on the leaves and stems of weeds on your block paving and gravel driveways. Be careful using this on lawns though, vinegar is non-selective will kill everything it touches!
