Job Description

We’re looking for a marketing communications intern to work closely with the Brand Manager UK to develop brand awareness and exposure in the UK using various channels: our website and blog, events, partnerships, public & press relations, media, social networks…

This internship will give you hands on, practical skills in all areas of online communications and will develop your analytical and strategic capacities. No time for being the “photocopy kid”, you will play a central role in the European Communications team.

What You’ll Do:

Under direct supervision of the Brand Manager UK, you will:

  • help create and manage editorial calendars across all communication platforms
  • be in charge of the company blog
  • give a hand finding top, news-worthy PR stories
  • create and curate content across our social media accounts and analyse the results
  • help implement various marketing communications campaigns both online and offline
  • monitor the latest trends and benchmark competitors
  • help with translations where necessary (French to English)

Who You Are:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively manage workload
  • Curious and yearning for hands-on experience in marketing, communications and community management
  • Creative and brimming with innovative ideas – the crazier the better!
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, startup environment where innovation and versatility is key.
  • A good digital and social media culture
  • A keen eye for DIY, home improvement or gardening is a bonus
  • Native-level/fluency in English is mandatory

Business Developer Marketplace UK – Internship/stage in Paris

After 3 rounds of fundraising and excellent results (several tens of millions of euros in turnover in 2015, 60 employees in less than two years), we are currently in a phase of acceleration to become the leader in the distribution of DIY and gardening  products on the web in Europe.

Today, we are present in 6 countries: France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany and the UK.

Description of the internship (stage):

A true right-hand man/woman of the UK Business Development Manager, you will recruit our future sellers, analyse their offer and introduce the means to increase their sales. Your field of action reaches across Europe.

You have a good general knowledge of e-commerce, equipped with a strong analytical mind-set and good relational skills. You will be able to identify and recruit our future European partners with strong potential, who are capable to make their products fly off our shelves.

Your missions:

1) Sourcing and analysis of the sellers’ offer:

  • Collecting competitive intelligence and identification of potential sellers
  • Benchmarking their offer and analysing its pertinence
  • Recruiting sellers from A to Z (sourcing, contact, negotiation)

2) Integration and reporting of performances:

  • Handling the technical integration of recruited sellers
  • Reporting on the performances of our newly integrated partners
  • Optimising the sellers’ offer, improving their content

3) Adapting our offer for the UK market:

  • Finding techniques to better sell our products
  • Identifying the products that respond to the UK demand

Your profile:

Currently studying or recently graduated of an academic course in higher education (university, school of commerce, Grande Ecole or Ecole d’Ingénieur), you are looking for a placement year or postgraduate internship (stage). You are passionate about the world of e-commerce and have a good digital culture. And, above all, you want to make our sales soar!

  • An excellent level of English, both oral and written
  • A good knowledge of French and any other language is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Excel other office programmes
  • Autonomous, business driven, strong rigour in the workplace
  • Ease at negotiation and commercial relations

Your missions:

Under the General Direction and the responsibility of the Customer Service Manager, you will accompany them and participate in the following missions:

  • Welcome and advise clients on the products and services available on manomao.co.uk by email, chat and telephone
  • Handle calls and orders
  • Autonomous and in relation with internal specialists, you will follow up on orders and handle claims by bringing answers which are pertinent and adapted to our clients
  • Negotiate with clients and sellers to resolve after-sales disputes and conflicts
  • Elaborating detailed analysis and reports for the manager
  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of the customer service tools

Your profile:

Newly qualified or with a first professional experience, you have a strong commercial aptitude, and a true sense of customer relations

An irreproachable level of English (preferably British), a good level of French.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Taste for service.

Logical rigour.

Team spirit and capacity to adapt.

The knowledge of a foreign language is a plus (especially Spanish, Italian or German).

Brand Manager UK

Under direct supervision of the Marketing Communications Manager, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to develop brand awareness and exposure in the UK using various channels: our website and blog, events, partnerships, public & press relations, media, social networks…

This empowering mission will push you to:

  1. Define and monitor strategic objectives for your actions
  2. Develop creative contents for our home improvement and gardening universe : transform the general idea of dull DIY into something thrilling and exciting; write fun and creative topics for press, web, TV or radio use
  3. Organise and manage events to boost brand awareness
  4. Become the privileged interface between journalists and ManoMano: you have responsibility over content production and ensure distribution to PR agencies
  5. Manage and make our communities grow (including on social networks)
  6. Manage media campaigns

Your profile:

  • Minimum requirements : bachelor in communication / marketing / business
  • Expected personal skills
    • Curiosity and yearning for hands-on experience in communication and PR
    • Strong interpersonal skills: you can take on new and existing leads and you know how to adapt to your interlocutor
    • Creativity: brimming with ideas and inspiring others
